Beginning Module 2

Do you ever feel that you don’t use all of the material and resources available to you and absolutely ring it dry of any information possible? Before starting BAPP this never crossed my mind but lately, I have pushed my self to use the internet as a starting point rather than an aid to develop an idea, by changing the way round I normally do things I found that I can take in a lot more information and broaden my knowledge before I make a judgement or decision. I watched the clip on TED Talks “what a digital government looks like”, which explains how Estonia has turned totally digital. Imagine being brought up in a world where your first port of call is a laptop or digital aid. A labyrinth of answers and ideas at your fingertips. As positive as the internet can be we as practitioners need to also efficiently use our bodies and creative minds to develop innovative and new ideas, but why not use Web 2.0 to help you get there. Getting into a habit that you are not used to doing can sometimes be harder than the task at hand as I have never been the person to sit at a table with family or friends and be constantly on my phone, or answering text messages in lighting speed. But here I am, completing a distance learning course, on my laptop. So things have to change, I have to change my status quo to help myself be my best.

The break from work over Christmas has been great, but we have to get back to reality. The hardest part is the motivation and design of some sort of rota to help get into a study routine. To help myself over Christmas I carried on reading texts and watching TED talks when I would normally be completing something for BAPP so I didn’t competently fall off the band wagon.

I would like to share a few videos that either caught my attention or inspired me over the holidays, I didn't always agree with everything that I watched, but they certainly made me think. Enjoy.
